FACE Project Round 1: BNI donates Food aid to vulnerable household amidst COVID pandemic

Reading Time: 1 minute

The first phase of the Food Aid in COVID-19 Emergency FACE project was activated on the 9th of April. Our coordinators received over 240 requests from/for some families in the communities that the Phase 1 of the project would cover – Abadina, Agbowo, Ajibode, Barika, Bodija, Orogun and Samonda (all in Ibadan). After careful consideration of these requests, our neighbourhood coordinators dispatched FACE Food kits to 76 families and 6 young people during the first week of distribution. We intend to reach out to another 74 families this Thursday and Friday.

These beneficiaries could not hide their joy and appreciation as they were handed over the kits. Each kit contained; One and a half rubber of Rice, One and a half rubber of Beans, 75ml Vegetable Oil (Power Oil brand), 75ml Palm Oil, One and a half rubber of Garri, Two packs Spaghetti, Five (5) Three Crown Milk Sachets, Five (5) Milo Sachets, Tomatoes paste (3 sachets), 1kg of Semolina, 100ml Hand sanitizer.

Although, we still have more kits to distribute, our goal – to reach out to at least 300 vulnerable families whose source of livelihood have been affected by the ‘stay at home’ order in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.

Through your help, we’ll be able to bring hope for the next meal to most vulnerable families.
