The Building Nations Initiative (BNI), a youth-led youth work organization based in Ibadan-Nigeria, organized a membership orientation course in order to familiarize new members with the vision, mission and core values of the organization.
The orientation course which was held on the 23rd and 24th of August 2019 took place at the Nation Builders Center at the University of Ibadan. In attendance were the newly selected BNI Campus Network members (who are basically undergraduates students) and Community Network members (who includes postgraduate students, professionals, and entrepreneurs below 35yrs old).
The President/CEO of Building Nations Initiative, Pharm. John Oluwadero, was present to chairman the programme. Other people who also graced the event were some of the old campus and community network members.
The programme was facilitated by Mr Oluwatobi Oso (BNI Head of Media and communications) who gave details about the history, vision, mission, objectives, core values, and the organizational structure of BNI.
Mr Oso also gave a comprehensive explanation on BNI’s “key initiatives” which are initiatives that stem from all aspects of youth work which includes youth civic engagement, sport, health and wellbeing, global competence, education, social entrepreneurship, and self development.
Working groups were designed to ensure an effective initiation of programmes developed from these initiatives. It was emphasised that all working groups depend on one another to function effectively, hence, all members should put in their best and work as a team.
